All Hair Toppers – what are hair toppers?
- Hair Toppers are hair pieces for the purpose of replacing the thinning hair on the top areas of the head.
- Hair Toppers come in different sizes and shapes for the purpose of ease to the clients.
- Hair Toppers are made thick for the purpose of filling in enough hair to hand over into the sides and back areas.
- Hair Toppers are made from human hair and or synthetic hair.
- Hair Toppers can be self-applied or applied by a hair professional.
How are Hair Toppers attached?
- Clipped on – Using large industry standing clips attached underneath the hair topper. This enables the individual end user and or a hair professional to quickly attach the hair topper on top of the individual’s existing thinning hair.
- Sewn on – Hair Toppers can also be sewn onto the client’s existing hair using a thread and needle. This is also called Hair Weaving the hair topper onto the client’s hair. This is performed by a hair professional.
- Bead’s and cylinder attachments – The client’s hair is brought through either a metal bead or metal cylinder and then crushed with a tool to hold onto the clients hair. Then a thread is sewn through these beads or cylinders and then through the hair topper therefore locking the hair topper to the client’s existing hair.
- Hair Toppers can be self-applied or applied by a hair professional.
Disadvantages to Hair toppers
- Covering the clients existing hair – Covering is smothering. Due to hair toppers still being a hair piece with either a solid base that does not breath and or a solid perimeter base – when placed on top of the client’s existing hair this smothers the existing hair causing to deteriorate the existing hair which is basically speeding up additional hair loss.
- Discomforting – Due to hair toppers being a hair piece with a heavy base this caused the individual to feel something on their head. This also causes heat and sweating from the scalp.
- Feel – Most individuals report always feeling something on their head.
- No Scalp Access – Due to hair toppers being a hair piece with wither a thick definite border and a solid base – there is no scalp access. This is discomforting to the individual and not health.
- Limitation of styling – Due to hair toppers being made small to lower the feel on the scalp along with hair toppers having a thick density of hair added to make up for their small size – this creates a limitation of styling. This creates an unbalanced head of hair densities which also restricts individuals in styling capabilities.
